Movement education at Body Wisdom Studio is a whole-body, whole-life approach to your health. We practice corrective exercises designed by Katy Bowman, nationally recognized biomechanist and bestselling author. We master movement skills that improve body alignment. Our new skills become our new habits. Our new habits improve how we walk, stand, sit, bend, reach, squat, lift and twist all day. It is the quality of our daily movements that dictates our quality of health, mobility, mental alertness, attitude and our quality of life as we age.

Our mission is to empower people with the knowledge, skills and motivation to regain pain-free natural movement, optimal body alignment, improved health, increased strength and reduced muscle and joint pain at any age. We put you in the driver’s seat of aging well.

Restorative Exercise / CORRECTIVE EXERCISE
Healthy aging is about acting on your desire to live in a strong, healthy and pain free body well into your advanced age. The majority of physical problems attributed to aging are actually the result of long term misuse or disuse of our body. A sedentary lifestyle is one of the biggest culprits. Retrain your body to improve your movement patterns through scientifically based Restorative Exercises that are simple to learn.
It is never too late, or too early, to improve your alignment, posture and movement patterns. The result is increased strength and vitality, greater flexibility, improved balance, stronger bones, improved sports performance and reduced pain. Start where you are. The only requirement is a sense of humor and a willing spirit.
Restorative Exercise classes focus on particular movement issues and the related corrective exercises.
OUTDOOR HIKING
Do you want to be strong, agile and independent with you're 90+ years old? How you choose to move your body today determines your ability to move your body in later years. The only fountain-of-youth is full body natural movement - as often as possible.
Every Saturday at 6:30 AM we leave Point Richmond headed for Mt. Tamalpais. Each hike has its own unique beauty. Hikes are challenging and rewarding. The Saturday hikes are 5 to 8 miles and usually end around 10:30 AM.
Prerequisite for Mt. Tam hikes: Participants in the Mt.Tamalpais adventures must be able to hike at least 5 miles on Saturday. So start walking Now! Contact Nancy if you are interested in hiking.
